MANAGEMENT OF THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION REGIME OF NON-STATE AGENTS

Legal framework:

Accidents against non-state employees are governed by Law No. 18.12 on the compensation of accidents at work, as well as accidents to employees in the private sector.

Insurer:

Minister of Labor and Occupational Integration / Directorate of Social Protection of Workers.

Insured population:

The population covered by the insurance benefit offered by the State and managed by the Minister of Labor and Occupational Integration is composed of the following categories:

Non-permanent agents in the general government.
Persons carrying out work as part of the national promotion.
Prisoners practicing work in the penitentiary establishments.

Guaranteed benefits

Medical, surgical, pharmaceutical, hospitalization and accessory expenses.
Costs of fitting the mutilated.
Transport costs.
Legal assistance
Compensation or life annuity in case of permanent incapacity for work.
An annuity to the beneficiaries in case of death of the victim.
Funeral expenses.

Main procedure relating to the settlement of allowances and guaranteed benefits.
Procedure relating to the liquidation of the definitive capital, the life annuity and the increase of annuity in case of assistance to a third person.
Procedure relating to the liquidation of the life annuity to the beneficiaries in case of death of the victim following the accident at work.
Procedure for the liquidation of medical, biological, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospitalization expenses.
